The History of Harvest Missionary Baptist
On November 18, 1979 a group of old time Baptists, meeting together in worship at Phillips & Robinson Funeral in Hendersonville, Tennessee, took a vote to determine the date to organize into an independent Missionary Baptist church.
A unanimous vote was given in favor of organizing on the 5th day of January, 1980 with an arm extended by Hendersonville Missionary Baptist Church. All churches in the Wiseman and Siloam Associations were invited as well as the following Missionary Baptists churches: Parkwood, Mt. Calvary, Beckwith and Victory.
The church began to hold services at Nannie Smith Berry Elementary School beginning on January 5, 1980 and continued to meet there until December of 1980. On December 2, 1980 the church purchased a piece of property at 192 Curtis Crossroads in Hendersonville, Tennessee. This property contained a structure which was restored and the first service was held at the new site on December 22, 1980.
During the business meeting conducted on March 13, 1994, the church voted to contract with MR Stokes Construction Company in order to build a new church on the 192 Curtis Crossroads property.
The new building was completed in the early months of 1996 with a dedication service held on March 3, 1996.
